Lovely Lavenders

Lavender is a hot new color for weddings for 2011. You can add a new twist to it by making it soft and romantic by playing up the lavender, or whimsical by playing up the greens and hot pink. The choice is yours, tap into your inner Bride!

Transform Your Venue

What can you do to transform your venue? Is everything right about it except "it needs a little something"?
You want the platinum look for less, but the pretty centerpieces aren't quite doing the trick of giving you that fairy tale look.Don't despair, try ceiling draping to give your venue that fairy tale look. Disguise your room with soft, airy, light fabrics that will transport you and your guests to a land of romance and mystery. Fabric can hide all the imperfections of the boring venue that lacks in WOW factor that you  had your heart set on. Coupled with colored wall washes, you will feel that you have been whisked away to a fairy tale dream.

Floral Budget

5 Tips To Ease Your Floral Budget

  1. Mix It Up- Choose high and low centerpieces for contrast and depth
  2. Double Up-  Let your flowers play double duty, reuse ceremony flowers again for the reception
  3. Be Flexible- Allow your florist to choose flowers that are in season
  4. Add Other Elements- use fruit, candles, feathers, vegetables to add variety and interest
  5. Use One Type of Flower- using one type of flower can save on your overall budget while adding drama and impact

What a beautiful day

What a busy wedding floral season we have had! During the down season, it gives us a time to reminisce on the past year weddings. The color purple reigned supreme. Purple has always brought to mind royalty, passion and Prince. My team and I loved being surrounded by the year's most popular color as it kept us in a good mood while cleaning and striping thousands of purple 'Cool Water' and 'Sterling' roses.

What a beautiful sunny day it was, when my girlfriend said, "I do". I was asked to design the wedding flowers as well as be a guest. After all the weddings I have been a part of, I still get excited when I receive an invitation in the mail. Before thinking about the type of flowers to be used and what type of centerpiece would look good, I think, oh no, what am I going to wear.

Darlene wore a beautiful chiffon a-line dress with sweetheart neckline, accented with lace trim. The bridesmaids wore aubergine, satin strapless dresses with silver embroiderey accented with rhinestones. The groom and his men wore classy dark suites with plum neckties. The flowers were designed in a variety of purples. Stock, roses specialty carnations, statice, light purple calla lilies, tulips all added to the beauty of the day. To be continued.......

It's All In The Details

Details- at first that word might bring to mind something small and insignificance , however little things mean a lot. When planning your wedding please, please, please, don't forgot the little things the Details. At first galance, one might think the big things will care for the littles things in planning your dream wedding, but remember the bigs things are large enough to be concerned about them selves only. It require attention for it to be taken care of. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the straw that broke the camel's back. Is it important to alphabetize your escort cards? You and your groom probaly will not want a line that takes your guest forty five mintues to find their seat. Will your guests want to sit through forty five minutes of speeches while your friends recall every detail of grade school? Are you really married without an accurate marriage license? Details, details, details, My intent is not to give you wedding nightmares, but rather to encourage you to pay attention to the -Details!

Choosing a D.J.

All D.J.'s are not created equal. There are talkers, comedians, singers and those who will ( regardless of how many times they are corrected) get your name wrong!!! Please do not try to reinvent "Billie Jean" Micheal got it right the first time. We love your idea of a grand entrance, but it is about the bride and groom and not a chance to plug your your D.J. business. Consider who you will hire!! Please ask for a reference and an opportunity to hear you disc jockey before you hire him/her. It is always good to ask,Will they bend to the the genre? Will he/she have funky lighting to create a mood for dancing? Is she /he comfortable with the emcee role as well as spinning the hits? Can she/he get the crowd pumped and keep the party going? Please consider who you trust to entertain your guest and keep the party jumping! My absolute favorite D.J. whom I trust is
